These small orchestras were part of celebrations in eastern Europe...untrained, and mostly instruments that were mobile and easy to set up. No elaborate arrangements, this music, when joined with Chicago , Kansas City, and New Orleans music, gave us what we refer to as Swing...think Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, Ziggy Elman...
