Description
Sherbrooke Tavern on Sherbrooke Street east, in Montreal, was a busy corner. The Mansion's Garage , from Guy Street, is looking at the blue sedan delivery that doesn't start. Another cold day, while the ladies above watch the action. This painting shows Montreal in 1942. Montreal was then known for 2 things. A church and a tavern on every corner. Wartime photos always seem to have Sweet Caporal cigarettes as the smoke of choice.
