Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
Description
Notre Dame was once a thriving town street in the community of Lachine, the first real commercial street going west from Montreal. The newer malls completely destroyed the viability of this main shopping strip. This painting shows a corner grocery/butcher Albert's in the 1970's, when the decline hadn't yet begun. Why the name Lachine? It was thought that the original village was actually China when discovered 400 years ago.
