Description
Part of Jean Drapeau and Pax Plante intent to clean up Montreal began in the late 1940's, and continued for 3 decades. The red light district was "cleaned up", with many of the small convenience stores put out of business. The east end red light district was nothing compared to Cadieux street that was known around the world.
